Where are my breasts?

Breast augmentation with breast implants

When I was growing up I was painfully aware that I was flat-chested and was unlikely to develop a decent pair of breasts, as both my mother and sister were small busted. My boyfriend had posters of Pamela Anderson all over his bedroom and when I found out that she had breast implants my whole world seemed a little brighter. Finally, I knew could do something if I was still flat chested when I turned 18! I don’t recall being on any social media platforms and plastic surgery was not advertised on television.

Not knowing where to go I was very happy when I saw an advert in a magazine for Transform. They were a dedicated plastic surgery company and looked very professional. The most exciting part of the advert, they provided free of charge consultation with plastic surgeons (and still do).

I called the inquiry number and spoke to a really friendly woman who asked what plastic surgery procedure I was considering. I said I wanted to have a breast augmentation and she booked me an appointment at their local offices in Birmingham.

Four days later I nervously buzzed at the entrance. The offices were clean and bright and the receptionist was very helpful. I sat on a chair and filled in a form as I waited to be seen. Initially, I went into an office with a patient advisor, Angie. She was easy to speak with and really seemed to care about what she did. Angie told me that Transform had their own dedicated hospital and all of their surgeons were registered with the Royal College of Surgeons.

I was then led into another office, to have my consultation with a plastic surgeon. He seemed to really listen to me and understand what I wanted. I looked at a few before and after photographs and was very pleased with what I saw. After speaking with him for a short time I knew I wanted to go ahead with a breast augmentation. After speaking with him I went into another office and spoke to Angie again. She asked if I wanted to book my breast augmentation. I didn’t have enough money saved and I was not eligible to apply for finance, so with a heavy heart, I had to say no. Feeling hopeful I left, accepting I would need to save the money before I could go any further.

Not long after I started a job with a bank and after 18 months of saving I had £2000. This wasn’t enough to go to Transform and I almost went to a surgeon who was only charging £2000. I had met a couple of women at a nightclub who had both had their breast augmentations, done by him. They had fantastic breasts, but when I found out he did not operate at a hospital and only used local anesthetic, I decided to work harder and keep saving.
